Handle Inter Group Targets One Stop Service Niche

Somchai Rungborvonwong, Handle Inter Group’s Manager Director, expects his company to achieve 20% revenue growth this year by providing fully integrated services and targeting small/medium sized enterprises.
     
Nowadays local freight forwarders have to compete not only among themselves but also with powerful multinational companies that have set up branches or joint venture companies in Thailand to explore abundant market opportunities.  Having the advantage in terms of global networks, modern logistic support and vast financial resources, foreign enterprises have already captured 60% share of the Thai market.

      “Because Thai-owned service providers do not have worldwide networks, they tend to concentrate on FOB export customers.  Now we are also trying to attract CIF customers while seeking out overseas agents who can refer more FOB customers to us. We also have the advantage of better understanding of local culture and local customer needs.  When a customer comes to us, we can handle both FCL and LCL cargo that requires transportation by land, air or shipping.”

      In order to provide the full range of freight forwarding services, Handle Inter Group has set up 4 subsidiary companies.  Handle International Transport Co., Ltd. is in charge of import/ export and custom procedures. Handle Inter Console specializes in consoles, import, and incoming containers. Handle Inter Freight Logistics provides air freight services while Handle Inter Service Co., Ltd., offers courier services for small parcels/ documents.  Agricultural products & electronics account for 50% of Handle Inter Group’s existing business volume.  Target customers are small/medium sized enterprises.

Customers are given full information on expenditures both at the embarkation point and final destination.”

      “With the opening of Suvarnabhumi airport which can handle up to 3 million tons of cargo per year (on par with Hong Kong but higher than Singapore’s 2million-ton capacity), I am confident that Bangkok will become a regional transport hub in the near future,” enthused Somchai.
