An Efficient Warehouse Management System is crucial for retail businesses with high inventory turnover - hence third-party warehouses are often the preferred option for transporting and distributing goods to customers in various locations.
Incorporated as a Thai-owned company in 1997, The Billennium Corporation specializes in buffer stock management for FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and major retailers including Tesco Lotus, American Standard, Nestle Mineral Water and F&N Dairies.
“Because we have always given top priority to creating customer trust and satisfaction, Billennium has become one of Thailand’s major Third Party Logistics providers,” said Ms. Nattha Sriprab, Sales Director, The Billennium Corporation.

Fully integrated services match customer needs
The Billennium Corporation handles incoming goods, storage and re-packing of promotional goods and free samples for customers who can comply with purchase conditions. As promotion goods and free gifts are delivered separately, they have to be re-packed before distribution to various retailers.

Special warehouses
Located in Rojana Industrial Estate and Nava Nakorn, Billennium warehouses are designed to meet specific customer needs. Goods destined for F&N Dairies are arranged on sturdy racks, all ready for transportation to retailers. Separate zones have been designated for goods that require manual handling. Storage shelves for goods with high turnover rates are at the front of the container yard while slow-moving goods are stored in the backyard. The warehouse at Nava Nakorn, on the other hand, is dedicated to goods that can be stored on the ground.

SSI Schaefer system helps warehouses
After considering various factors such as price, the proposed format and suppliers’ recommendations, Billennium chose SSI Schaefer’s Warehouse System, which offers superior database systems and expert advice on warehouse design that makes the most of space for storing bulk cargo. SSI Schaefer also provided consulting services from the start of the joint project.
“We were impressed with SSI Schaefer’s professional capability, on-time delivery and continuous system monitoring. In the future, SSI Schafer will remain one of our short-listed suppliers who have proven to be very reliable in terms of service and product quality,” said Ms. Nattha.

With 20 years of experience in Thailand, SSI Schaefer provides consultation and planning services relating to customized warehouse systems.

Management system works well
Efficient WMS requires a detailed understanding of customers’ data and products, a requirement for time management and customers’ order priorities. Products with high turnover rates have to be located in easily accessible areas. In most cases, the highest turnover rate occurs towards the end of each month when companies sum up their sales revenues. Work schedules have to be set in accordance with customers needs while considering the priority of products that require long-distance transportation. Storage space and additional staff need to be efficiently organized to ensure that any sudden influx of cargo can be efficiently handled. On-time delivery is imperative for customers who belong to the Modern Trade category.

“Understanding customer needs and the nature of goods is the key factor in ensuring a successful outcome of logistics management. Close coordination with customers is essential as we have to be absolutely clear about the order of priority needs. As our services are on a par with multi-national companies, several customers now prefer to switch to The Billennium Corporation,” Ms. Nattha added.
