On July 12, 2010, at the Renaissance Hotel, Bangkok, Dr. Songkiert  Tansamrit, Executive Vice President, PTT Research and Technology Institute, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), and Mr. Takeo  Saito, President, Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. (HINO), made a joint announcement of the reliable capabilities of PTT engine test laboratories for EURO 3 Emission Standard Test for heavy-duty CNG engines according to TIS 2320-2009, which was Thailand’s first engine test laboratories for that remarkable potential.
 

On the evidence of an OEM’s recognition, PTT competent engine test facilities have been selected by HINO, for the first time in Thailand, to undertake EURO 3 emission test in HINO’s heavy-duty CNG engines.Furthermore, HINO works closely with PTT in the furtherance of the development for CNG engines, fuels and lubricants.

In enhancing the capabilities of PTT engine test laboratories, PTT aims to enable OEM automobile development technology to put domestic CNG to good use with high efficiency, better fuel economy and low emission.  It also serves the state alternative fuels plan to help reduce the imbalance of imported oil ,while working as the state mechanism to help enforce more stringent automotive emission regulations.
