LOGISTICS :Ticon Industrial Connection Plc plans this year to spend one billion baht to expand its logistics business at three industrial estates.

Subsidiary Ticon Logistics Park (TPark) will develop additional logistics areas at TPark Bang Na, TPark Wang Noi in Ayutthaya, and TPark Laem Chabang in Chon Buri.

"Demand for logistics and warehouses is rising. A number of companies want to own or rent warehouses in strategic locations near airports and seaports, so they can save logistics costs,"said Ticon managing director Virapan Pulges.

The 450-rai TPark Bang Na, located at Bang Na-Trat Highway Km 39, will expand to 90,000 sq m of logistics area from 40,000 sq m to serve electronics, auto parts, industrial and consumer product businesses. It will have a customs fee zone in two years.

TPark Laem Chabang will increase logistics space to 30,000 from 20,000 sq m. The 200-rai TPark Wang Noi just has one client but good potential.

Ticon shares closed yesterday on the SET at 19.20 baht, up 20 satang, in trade worth 40.29 million baht.
